Rmonia acquires Italian luxury clothing brand Aspesi

Italian private equity fund Armonia acquired a majority stake in Italian luxury apparel brand Aspesi and appointed FabioGnocchi as the new CEO of the brand. FabioGnocchi worked for the Italian luxury goods group Brunello Cucinelli.

Aspersi's founder, Alberto Aspesi, will retain a minority stake. According to sources, Armonia's acquisition amounted to more than 50 million euros.

Armonia said that this is their first deal, and Armonia will help the company expand further as a long-term partner.

In 2005, Uniqlo's parent company, Japan's Fast Retailing, acquired Aspesi for 345 million yen, and sold all of its 60% stake to Alberto Aspesi & C.SpA in 2008. The transaction amount was not disclosed.

The founder of Aspesi, Alberto Aspesi, was born in Varese, Italy in 1944. He is a famous Italian fashion designer. The Aspesi brand has four product lines, including women's DONNA and men's UOMO. It is known for its clean lines, minimalist neutral cuts and high-tech fabrics.

Founded in 1961, Aspesi's parent company, Alberto Aspesi & C.SpA, is headquartered in Legnano, Italy, and operates online and offline retail outlets for men and women in Italy and abroad. Products include coats, Jackets, down jackets, suits, vests, Parker coats, T Shirts, etc.

Armonia is a newly established independent asset management company in Italy, authorised and regulated by BankofItaly and the Italian Securities Regulatory Commission (CONSOB).

Armonia is a member of the Italian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AIFI), which aims to help small and medium-sized Italian companies expand overseas.
