China's jade varieties are rich, some natural jade color, texture and jade are similar, often used to make tools, posing as jade. Common types of jade similar to jadeite include climbing jade, hard sodium jade, water foam, tumbler, Dushan jade, Qinghai jade, green agate, Aoyu, Dongling jade and so on.
1. Climbing the mountain jade. It consists of jadeite (about 90%) and diopside (about 10%), accompanied by tremolite, which is a plaque-like crystal structure. The mineral composition is similar to jade, but it does not belong to traditional jade. Some people think that climbing jade is a new type of jadeite.
2, hard sodium rock jade. It consists of albite (85%-90%) and jadeite. It is a peripheral rock of jadeite rock. 3, water foam. The water foam is very similar to jade, usually in egg white or glass, often accompanied by blue and green flowers, and the sound of percussion is crisp and sweet. Water foam is used in many markets in Tengchong and Ruili, and is often used to serve as medium and high-grade jade.
4, the tumbler. An emerald-like stone was produced in the northwestern part of Myanmar on the west bank of the Kai River in India. The Burmese called the name of the jade. The Chinese came to pronounce the word "tumbler", so the "tumbler" can be regarded as a transliteration of the Burmese name. "Tumbler" has a spotty green color, the weight and feel are comparable to jade, and has a good sense of warmth, but the hardness is less than jade.
5, Dushan jade. Nanyang Dushan jade is a kind of petrochemical plagioclase, which is an ancient jade species in China, also known as Nanyangyu, Mixianyu and Henan Cui. The colors are black, yellow, green, etc., and most of the green is blue and ash. Looking in the sun in the band, it is a green. Soft, rough texture, waxy light. Its texture, Mohs hardness and refractive index are similar to jadeite. Its density is only 2.9, which is less than jadeite. It is easily confused with jadeite.
6, Daiyu. Saitama is a serpentine rock produced in Liaoning Xiuyan, which is slightly transparent to translucent. The main difference with jadeite is: the jade green has a little gray in it, it is grayish green, the color is light and uniform, and there is no obvious color-shaped root; the uneven jade is distributed in the jade, which is opaque. White "clouds". The jade fracture is flatter and sandy, while the jade fracture is jagged. The jade has a Mohs hardness of 3.5-6 and a density of 2.65, which is significantly lighter than jadeite and floats on the surface of heavy liquid in diiodomethane.
7, Qinghai Jade. The main mineral component of Qinghai jade is calcium aluminum garnet, which contains a small amount of chlorite and diopside. Qinghai jade is white and various green and yellowish green with different depths and uneven distribution. Micro-transparent to translucent. Common black chromite spots, glass luster to grease luster, uneven fracture, brittle. It has a granular structure under the microscope. The Mohs hardness is 6-6.5, and the refractive index and relative density are both greater than jadeite, which are 1.734 and 3.5 respectively.
